The Parachute School

About the School

If you want to fulfill a dream of jumping like our Greatest Generation did, look no further. We operate an active “WWII Experience” parachuting school known as “The Parachute School”, named after the original parachute school at Ft. Benning, GA during WWII. Students participate in a 9-day full immersion experience at our historic WWII 1942 hangar at the old Frederick Army Air Field, in Frederick, OK. This training experience culminates in five jumps from one of our WWII veteran C-47 or C-49  troop transports. The Parachute School is conducted in July and October.

The Parachute School - BASIC PARACHUTE COURSE

The Parachute School is an immersive WWII Airborne style course that will teach you not only to jump, but to also gain an understanding of what it was like as an airborne soldier during  WWII. Named in honor of the original WWII Parachute School at Fort Benning, our program offers a nine-day experience conducted in our historic 1942 hangar at the former Frederick Army Air Field in Frederick, Oklahoma. Training concludes with five qualifying static-line jumps from one of our WWII veteran aircraft—Douglas C-47 Boogie Baby and  C-49 Wild Kat.

The Parachute School is more than an introduction to WWII airborne operations. It is also how we build the future of the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team. Each class grows and strengthens our membership, develops the next generation of cadre, riggers, jumpmasters and leaders. Equally important, it keeps our pool of show jumpers active, current, and ready to represent the Team at events and airshows around the country.

Whether you come to earn your wings, to serve as part of the team's future, or simply to experience a unique chapter of living history, The Parachute School offers a path forward. No matter where your interests lead, if you meet our performance standards, there is a place for you here.

Join us for an unforgettable adventure that honors the legacy of those who served.

BASIC PARACHUTE COURSE INCLUDES:

• Lodging in our historic 84-year-old barracks and hangar

• Three fresh cooked meals daily, prepared by the ADT Mess Section
