C-47 "Ride-Along"


"Airborne Experience"

We are now able to offer a new "ride-along" Airborne experience. Individuals will be allowed to go "Airborne" along with jump team members on a C47 flight.  Hear and feel what it's like to ride in a WWII vintage aircraft and watch the troops dressed in WWII uniforms and equipment "Stand Up & hook Up".

Other Information:        Jack was assigned to the 551st and took part in the night training jump at Camp Mackall that saw a number of the paratroopers taking part drowned. From the 551st he was assigned to the 508th PIR prior to their departure for England and its European campaigns. Jack jumped into Normandy on the morning of June 6th 1944 and also jumped into The Netherlands on September 17th 1944 with the 508th and was trucked into Bastogne with that unit also. Jack was wounded three times.
