Airborne History
An important part of the
World War II Airborne Demonstration Team’s mission is to
research and record the history behind the major Airborne
Operations of WWII and to help keep the actions and achievements
associated with them alive for future generations. This way they
should get a better feel for and understand what took place.
Part of the Team’s goal is to make this information readily
accessible to the largest audience possible through this website
and our attendance and commemorative events around the globe.
A key element of this strategy is represented by the “living
museum” that spectators can experience when they attend
demonstration parachute jump. In addition, the developing
Frederick Base Camp and Museum will also allow visitors to get a
close up look at the team and see first hand some of the
equipment, facilities and aircraft that were used during WWII.
However, presenting and communicating the information that we
are able to accumulate from a variety of sources, including our
Legacy Members, will, over time, create a unique record of the
airborne activities of World War II. Our team members are always
willing to participate in communicating this whenever and
wherever it is practical to do so.
